Jennifer Santschy is a Swiss illustrator who lives and works in Lausanne. A graduate of ECAL – the Lausanne Cantonal Art School – and an enthusiast of fashion and graphic arts, she is also a photographer and illustration lecturer at ERACOM – The School of Arts and Communication of Western Switzerland.
The artist maintains a particular link with the Caran d’Ache brand, and especially with the 825 pen that she uses to create her dream worlds in an ultra-realistic style.
She began with academic drawings using coloured and grey pencils from Caran d’Ache before discovering the potential of ballpoint pens in her teenage years, when she began drawing her first subjects in her notebooks. She then developed her artistic work primarily using the 825 pen, which she appreciates for the precision it offers when drawing. It is therefore entirely natural that Caran d’Ache turned to the illustrator to celebrate the product’s 50th anniversary.
