  • PAINT AND CREATE AN ABSTRACT AUTUMNAL COLLAGE FOR FALL WITH MUSEUM AQUARELLE RANGE

To make your fall-inspired abstract watercolor collage in the style of artist Sofia Clara, you will need:
DIY acrylic painting supplies scissors brush fabric fastener and thread
    • Watercolour pencils from the Caran d'Ache Museum Aquarelle range
    • Caran d'Ache watercolour paper pad
    • Watercolour palette
    • Paint brushes for watercolour painting
    • A glass of water
    • Clear glue
    • Adhesive tape and a board on which to lean (optional)
    • Fall tree leaves in seasonal autumnal tones, pressed flat in a book or a flower press
    1. On your next walk in the forest or in the mountains, collect a few tree leaves in seasonal fall colors and dry them for a few days.
    2. Choose your color palette from the colors available in the Museum Aquarelle range. You can draw inspiration from a picture of an autumnal fall landscape.

    3. On your palette combine several Museum Aquarelle colors and create new color combinations by adding a little water.
    4. Dampen your paper with a large paintbrush or a clean, damp cloth before painting your watercolor.

    5. Dab your watercolor paper using the paintbrushes to create an abstract interpretation of the photo or landscape you chose. Regularly moisten your paintbrush, so that the colors stay wet.
    6. Leave to dry completely.
    7. Now choose a darker color to add spatters of paint. You should use less water for this mix as the paint should be thicker.
    8. Dip the tip of a dry paintbrush in a little paint and gently tap the paintbrush against your finger, so that little drops of paint land on your paper.
    9. Leave to dry.

    10. Now place the pressed tree leaves on the paper and stick them with a clear glue that will be invisible when dry.
    11. All that’s left for you to do is frame and proudly display your fall watercolor.
