1. FOR MOTHER'S AND FATHER'S DAY
On Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, we remind our parents of what we appreciate about them and how much we love them. For a special gift, pick out a CARAN D'ACHE + ME 849 Ballpoint Pen in their favourite colours and have a message engraved on it. These iconic hexagonal body, aluminium pens are 100% customisable. From the colours of the barrel, clip and retraction button, to the type of ink, to the engravings on the pen and its storage case, each part can be designed with the recipient in mind. With 5,300 possible combinations, there is no risk anyone else will have the same.
Each pen comes in a case that adds to its appeal as a gift and protects it during transport. The pen also has a clip that can be hooked onto a notebook or pocket. Made from the heart, our ballpoint pen can also be worn close to the heart.
Prefer not to choose custom colours? Instead, select one of our pre-designed limited-edition 849 ballpoint pens or mechanical pencils, which come in striking and stylish colours. These products, however, cannot be engraved.
2. FOR CELEBRATING LOVE
Looking for a Valentine’s Day gift or for a creative way to propose marriage? Your message can be engraved on a luxury ballpoint, rollerball or fountain pen from our Haute Écriture collections. Various typeface options are available.
3. FOR BIRTHDAYS AND CHRISTMAS
We offer a wide range of ballpoint, fountain, rollerball pens or mechanical pencils in a variety of designs, materials, finishes and colours. Options are available for each budget and type of writing experience.
For birthday and Christmas gifts for friends or family members, we recommend either
- 1. an 849 ballpoint pen from the Caran d’Ache + Me collection, in custom colours and with a personalised engraving, or
- 2. a model from the Haute Écriture collection. Engraving is available when ‘engravable’, is mentioned on the product description. The fonts, length of the engraving and ability to engrave on the case can vary by product.
Engravings are made upon request, so it is best to order in advance. If you order online, you can add gift wrapping and a personal note. This service is entirely complimentary.
If you plan to give a fountain pen, include a few extra ink cartridges. Our range of Chromatic colours includes violet, turquoise, green, pink, red and more.
For the text, you might engrave

- • the recipient’s best trait,
- • an inside joke (#TGIF),

4. FOR ACHIEVEMENTS AND SPECIAL MOMENTS
Memorialise a special event – a graduation, birth or opening of a new business – by having its date engraved on a pen from our Haute Écriture collection.
1. Ecridor
The Ecridor Collection, featuring guilloché etchings on hexagonal barrels, will please those with an eye for beauty and detail. Timeless and elegant, this collection is a monument of Caran d’Ache craftsmanship. Fountain, rollerball and ballpoint pens are available, as well as mechanical pencils.
2. Léman
The Léman Collection honours Lake Geneva. Available in burgundy, alpine blue, white, black and crimson-lake red, these pens recall the colours of the lake at different times of day and in different seasons. Léman writing utensils offer superb comfort, whether a ballpoint, fountain or rollerball pen or mechanical pencil. The nib is finished in 18-carat gold plate or rhodium, depending on the model.
3. Varius
The Varius Collection stands out for its unique silhouettes and textures, panache and high-end and refined materials. Some of our limited-edition pens were created in collaboration with recognised artists. Others make novelty references, such as the Varius Trophy, with its golf-inspired laced leather grip.
For an aspiring architect, a developing illustrator or a newly graduated designer, a personalised mechanical pencil is a perfect gift.
