Caran d’Ache welcomes Lucie Simon, founder of Miou Studio, for a colourful exhibition in its Espace créatif at Plateforme 10. Through her illustrations and mood boards, this French graphic artist enthusiastically shares her passion for the colours around her.
From the 22nd of March, graphic designer Lucie Simon will take over the Espace créatif Caran d’Ache at Plateforme 10 in Lausanne for an exhibition focusing on colour and its unexpected combinations of shades. Through her illustrations and mood boards, she takes us on a bold and colourful journey, full of contrasts. The BE COLOR, BICOLOR! exhibition is a true celebration of Lucie Simon’s love for all the shades in the colour wheel – a passion she shares with the Geneva-based company.
“Colour is stronger than language,” said Marie-Laure Bernadac, a quote that resonates perfectly with Lucie Simon’s vision. After studying Applied Arts and then specialising in fashion design and colour design, she continues to work in the field of graphic design and artistic consulting. Colour represents the interface between her different fields of expertise, making her approach truly unique, be it in the realisation of concepts, patterns, and illustrations or during workshops. Inspired by everything around her and displaying great curiosity, she passionately explores the world of everyday colour in numerous formats.
In addition to this exhibition at Plateforme 10, Lucie Simon will showcase her creative concept in the Caran d’Ache display cases at Bern and Geneva railway stations. This collaboration will also give rise to an original episode of her podcast Couleurs Foule, in which the designer will interview Eric Vitus, Beaux-Arts R&D Director at Caran d’Ache, on the subjects of colour, creativity and innovation.
BE COLOR, BICOLOR! is on show until 30th April, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Espace Créatif Caran d’Ache, Plateforme 10 - Arcades 8-11, 16, Pl. de la Gare, 1003 Lausanne.
ABOUT MIOU STUDIO
Lucie Simon, founder of Miou Studio, is a graphic and colour designer. After studying and working in the fields applied arts with occasional forays into fashion design and colour design, she showcased her talents as a graphic designer for off-the-peg brands and trend consulting firms. In 2020, she founded her creation studio, advising creative brands and companies with regard to their visual and colour identity in order to shed light on committed and more light-hearted projects.
For Lucie, colour is everywhere and plays a key role in her creative world. It is this love for colours that pushed her to create her podcast in 2022. “Couleurs Foule” takes the form of an acoustic immersion. The concept? To explore the captivating and surprising world of colour through the eyes of professionals discussing their relationship with colour.
It is this diversity and wealth that Lucie was keen to share by creating this podcast, Couleurs Foule, and by meeting professionals who as passionate as she is!
