Rubén Belloso was born in Seville in 1986. He graduated in fine arts from the University of Seville, with a specialisation in painting. Just 29 years old, he has won numerous university honours, including the Prize for the Best Results in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Seville in 2010, the Special End of Career Faculty Award from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Seville for 2009/2010, the “Real Maestranza of Caballería of Seville” University Award for the 2009/2010 academic year and the Mayor of Seville’s prize in 2011.
He has also shown his work at a great many group exhibitions, both in Spain and internationally. Belloso has had solo shows at galleries throughout Europe, winning international awards and prizes. His work has been discussed in numerous media around the world, including magazines, newspapers, radio and TV. Examples include a recent feature report on ARTE TV’s Metropolis programme and interviews conducted for major pastel publications, such as Pratique des Arts and Pastel Journal.
He was the guest of honour at the 2014 exhibition “Arte per oggi” held at the Teatro dei Dioscuri (Rome). In Italy he also exhibited his works alongside some of the great masters of art history, such as Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and André Derain.
